Viewing your recorded
videos
PC to PC
The computer running SnapStream is actually a video
server for your home network. Using a web browser, any other computer on
your home network can watch your pre-recorded shows. As expected, update
your Windows Media Player to the latest version to ensure full
functionality and compatibility.
Just point your web browser at the SnapStream
computer and you will see the same familiar interface you saw on the
SnapStream server itself.
Worried about your children accessing your recorded
video’s? SnapStream PVS allows you to two levels of security. You can set
a password on the configuration side of things and another for the video
watching side. The Windows XP version will enhance security by integrating
into the Windows XP security model and allowing for control down to the
channel level!
PocketPC
The PocketPVS encoder that comes with SnapStream PVS
will encode a maximum of 32Mb at a time. This is enough for a ½ hour
movie. If you need to convert shows longer than ½ hour, you may want to
look into the retail PocketPVS for $29.99.
The interface for the PocketPVS is functional and
works. Simply select the shows you would like synchronized with your
PocketPC – then the program converts them to your default PocketPC quality
level and sends the files to your PocketPC default storage area. You can’t
set the PocketPC default storage area from the PocketPVS application – you
must go into SnapStream PVS, Confgure>PocketPVS>Advanced>Storage
Card Name.
Pay close attention to the quality level selected
for your PocketPC encoding. If you have a slower PocketPC like an HP
Jornada 54x and ecode for an iPAQ, you will no be pleased with the
results. Selecting the proper encoding can greatly improve your SnapStream
experience.
