HomeRF 2.0 is a 10Mbps
wireless networking technology. Secutiry is already built in
and comes enabled by default. There is a single
vendor making HomeRF chipsets and only a couple compies that sell products
that use the HomeRF standard. Although a technically strong
solution, it lacks strong vendor support. Read more about it here
Speed:
HomeRF runs at 10 Mbps. This
speed is about the same as an 802.11b solution. It
does not however have the range or support as many people.
Cost:
HomeRF products do not have a
large number of vendors to force a price war. Because of this and
the lack of interest in the market, HomeRF products have remained rather
expensive. Check
